Quick Tips On How To Care for Your Mondaine Watch

If you're the lucky owner of a Mondaine watch, then it's essential that you are fully knowledgeable on how to properly care for your treasured timepiece.  Although you should know the general ins and outs of your timepiece, it's inevitable that in order to preserve its look and functionality, you must put in the time and effort to thoroughly clean and consistently care for your watch. We've gathered a few helpful tips on how to care for your Mondaine watch, or any watch for that matter! Since Mondaine timepieces are equipped with the finest sapphire crystal, durable stainless steel, and high-quality leathers, it's important to know how to care for each of these items as they make up the whole look and feel of the timepiece.

1. Keep it Clean: Since timepieces are susceptible to gathering and clinging on to dust and dirt particles, it's really important to keep your watch case looking clean, shiny, and smudge free! A few drops of soap and water on a soft piece of cloth will do the trick in removing any grim that may stick to your watch case or band.

2. Get it Serviced: In order to ensure your timepiece will keep working for many years to come, make sure to get your watch serviced every 2 to 3 years to keep it properly running and on time.

3. Know Your Water Resistance: Knowing your watch's water resistance will give you a clearer idea of how to care for and handle your watch. When watch's are water resistant, that means they can handle a few splashes of water but it's best to avoid fully submerging your timepiece in the water. If you watch has a leather strap, it's best to avoid water all together since water weakens and ruins leather.

4. Take Care of the Crystal: As obvious as it sounds, avoid banging or scratching the crystal as best as you can. Although sapphire crystal is known for its scratch resistant properties, it's best to be gentle with your watch and avoid placing it against harsh surfaces.

5. Avoid Direct Sunlight: Sunlight is known to fade leather and it also can shorten the battery life, so keep your watch hidden or out of the sun's way as much as you can.
